Day 1 - November 30, 2024 - Huskies, Reindeer, and Northern Lights

Your Lapland adventure begins with a visit to a husky farm, where you’ll have the opportunity to take a thrilling cart ride (weather permitting) with these incredible athletes. The activity is only operated if the temperature is 10 degrees or lower for animal welfare reasons. If conditions allow, with enough snow, the ride will be done with sledges. Learn about the extensive preparation and conditioning that goes into making these dogs the amazing athletes they are. Visit the kennel and get a feel for how the dogs are prepared for their demanding roles.

After your exhilarating husky experience, enjoy a hearty lunch before embarking on a 3-hour drive to Ruka. Upon arrival, you’ll visit a local reindeer farm, where you’ll immerse yourself in the world of reindeer. Hear stories of the year of the reindeer and the farm’s history, admire the beautiful countryside, and feed the reindeers with their calves. Visit the handicraft workshop and farm shop to explore local crafts and products.

The day’s adventure concludes with a unique and relaxing experience: Yoga with reindeer. Enjoy well-being in nature as you learn some reindeer-inspired yoga poses, a perfect way to unwind and connect with the serene Arctic environment.

Day 2 - December 1, 2024 - Arctic Exploration and Culinary Discovery

Today, we’re diving into a day filled with wonder, discovery, and delightful experiences that both kids and parents will love.

Our journey begins at the enchanting Ranua Wildlife Park, a winter wonderland where you can meet an array of Arctic animals in their natural-like habitats. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the whole family to get up close with majestic polar bears, cunning Arctic foxes, and playful otters. As we stroll through the serene surroundings, you’ll learn fascinating facts about these creatures and the important efforts to protect them and their environments.

Next, we’ll immerse ourselves in Finnish culture with a fun and educational Supermarket Tour. Over the course of an hour, you’ll discover the local eating habits and unique Finnish products, from traditional rye bread to delicious berry jams. It’s a great chance for the kids to explore new tastes and for parents to find some special souvenirs to bring a piece of Finland back home.

To top off our day, we’ll gather for a cozy dinner in a traditional Kota restaurant. Surrounded by the rustic charm of this Lappish dwelling, your family will enjoy a warm and inviting atmosphere as you savor the flavors of local cuisine, from hearty stews to freshly baked bread. It’s the perfect setting for families to relax, share stories of the day’s adventures, and bask in the warm glow of the fireplace.

Day 3 - December 2, 2024 - Enchantment at Santa's Village

Stroll through the charming streets lined with an array of souvenir shops, each offering unique gifts and keepsakes to remind you of this magical journey. Discover the delightful array of cafes and restaurants, where you can indulge in seasonal treats and warm beverages, adding an extra layer of coziness to your experience.

A highlight of your visit is the private meet & greet with Santa Claus himself. In his cozy chamber, surrounded by the cheerful bustle of his little helpers, the elves, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the jolly old man who brings joy to children around the world. Day 4 - December 3, 2024 - Amethyst Adventure and Igloo Dining

Get ready for an exciting Day 4 in Lapland, where we’ll explore the magical Amethyst Mine in Luosto and enjoy a cozy dinner under the stars in a glass igloo!

Our adventure begins with a journey to the Amethyst Mine, nestled in the stunning Pyhä-Luosto National Park. As we travel on the special snow train called Pendolino, get ready for breathtaking views of the snowy landscape. It’s like being in a winter wonderland!

At the mine, we’ll learn all about amethysts, the beautiful purple gems that have been forming for over 2000 million years. Then comes the fun part – digging for your own amethyst! With tools and guidance, you’ll search for a special stone to take home as a souvenir. It’s like a treasure hunt in the snow!

After our mining adventure, we’ll visit the mine’s shop where you can find unique stones and amethyst jewelry that you won’t find anywhere else. You can even become an “owner” of the mine by purchasing a share – how cool is that?

To end our day, we’ll have a magical dinner experience in a glass igloo at the Arctic Snow Hotel and Glass Igloos. Imagine eating delicious Lapland cuisine while surrounded by the beauty of the Arctic night, with stars and maybe even the Northern Lights shining above you. It’s the perfect way to relax and enjoy the wonders of Lapland with your family.
