Additional Notes

Physical Activity: This itinerary includes light to moderate physical activity, including walking tours, nature hikes, and beach outings. Some paths may be uneven or unpaved, especially in natural areas like caves and coastal trails. Comfortable walking shoes or sandals with grip are recommended.

Weather Considerations: Late March and early April in the Dominican Republic are warm and tropical, with daytime temperatures ranging from 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C). Rain is possible, particularly in coastal areas, so it’s best to pack a light rain jacket or travel umbrella. Sun protection is essential—bring sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses for outdoor activities.

What to Wear & Pack: Pack lightweight, breathable clothing for warm tropical weather—think quick-dry fabrics, comfortable shorts, dresses, and swimwear. For excursions, bring a pair of closed-toe shoes or hiking sandals, and a light layer for air-conditioned spaces or breezy evenings. Don’t forget a reusable water bottle, insect repellent, and a small daypack for outings.

Time Zone: The Dominican Republic operates on Atlantic Standard Time (AST), which is one hour ahead of U.S. Eastern Standard Time and two hours ahead of Central Standard Time (CST). The country does not observe daylight saving time.

Voltage: The Dominican Republic uses 110V/60Hz, the same as the U.S., with standard Type A and B plugs. No adapter or converter is necessary for most U.S. travelers.

Currency: The local currency is the Dominican Peso (DOP). U.S. dollars are accepted in some tourist areas, but we recommend exchanging a small amount of cash or using local ATMs. Major credit cards are widely accepted, though cash may be needed for small purchases or tips.

Dietary Restrictions: We are happy to accommodate most dietary restrictions and food allergies. Please inform us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements throughout the trip.

Terms and Conditions: Please read our trip terms and conditions.
