Our trip begins with a visit to the holiday wonderland, The Wreath Factory, in Plymouth for a wreath demonstration and shopping time.  Their namesake fresh evergreen wreaths are produced annually from November through December and are a wonderful way to enjoy the sights and smells of the season.

Shop at the Old World Christmas Market at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake along with the chance to purchase lunch on your own.

Reminiscent of the centuries-old Christkindlesmarkt of Nüremberg, Germany, the 23nd annual Old World Christmas Market at The Osthoff Resort offers the warmth and merriment of this Old World tradition. For ten consecutive days, guests stroll the aisles of a grand heated tent bedecked with fragrant boughs of fresh evergreens and the tantalizing scents of roasted almonds and Nüremberg bratwurst as they browse for unique and specialty items among international and regional artisans. Czech blown-glass ornaments, Russian nesting dolls, German hand-carved smokers and nutcrackers, fine apparel, handmade amber and silver jewelry, Turkish pashmina scarves and shawls, stained glass art, Russian hand-painted Santas, fresh green wreaths, kissing balls and centerpieces, alpaca products, Estonia woolens, fine chocolates, Plauen lace, fine woodwork, fur products and much more!

The Old World Food Court offers shoppers space to relax and enjoy delectable German fare, such as, Nüremberg bratwurst, hot glühwein, sauerbraten, dumplings, schnitzel, potato pancakes, red cabbage, pulled pork and apple strudel. Father Christmas, the venerable old gentleman in his berry red, fur-trimmed suit, roams the market merrily greeting children of all ages. So be sure to bring along your camera for some memorable photo opportunities.

 

Head to the Cedar Valley Cheese Store where you will find hundreds of varieties of Wisconsin cheese. It also offers other Wisconsin-made products such as: ice cream, milk, jams and jellies, sausage, wine and even Cheesehead apparel. next door.  Stock up on your favorites because no Christmas party is complete without cheese! Complete your Christmas list with the store’s adorable selection of decor items – perfect for stocking stuffers!

The Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts, located just east of historic downtown Cedarburg, is dedicated to educating the public about the artistic, cultural, historic and social importance of quilts and fiber arts. Operating out of a restored 1850s barn, the museum offers rotating fiber art exhibitions, tours, classes, workshops, and a Museum Gift Shop filled with unique, handmade gifts from area artists.  

Get into the spirit by creating your very own fiber art Christmas ornament at the museum. The project is perfect for beginners and includes everything you need to walk away with a finished ornament. Plus we’ll enjoy a tour and exploration time at this treasure of a museum.
