As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Þingvellir offers the unique opportunity to walk between two continents while discovering the place where Iceland’s history and geology come together in spectacular surroundings. Our culinary journey continues to the Friðheimar Greenhouse, where geothermal energy makes it possible to grow tomatoes year-round in Iceland’s northern climate. This afternoon, enjoy a unique culinary experience where we will taste traditional Icelandic rye bread, naturally baked underground using geothermal heat — a delicious taste of a centuries-old Icelandic tradition. The day concludes by visiting the magnificent Gullfoss, where the glacial river Hvítá plunges into a rugged canyon in two spectacular cascades, creating one of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders before checking into our unique hotel in Hella.

In the afternoon we visit the powerful Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls, where the Skógá River plunges 60 meters over the former sea cliffs, creating an impressive curtain of water and mist. Our final adventure today takes us to the fascinating Caves of Hella, one of Iceland’s oldest manmade sites. Believed to date back to the early settlement period, these mysterious underground chambers continue to intrigue historians and archaeologists alike.
